When was it published?

The story by Kalistrate was not in a fanzine, but it was a story published in the "petit format" Inter-planètes n° 4 of Editions Lutèce (3rd quarter of 1969).

The Editions Lutèce published a few comics between 1966 and 1974.
"Les éditions de Lutèce est un éditeur dont le siège social était au 33 rue Pixérécourt, 75 Paris. Il a publié des bandes dessinées petit format entre 1966 et 1974 après avoir publié des Récits Complets, ainsi que des collections de romans sentimentaux et policiers."

Le journal de Toto published the first french translation of Saturno contro la Terra in 1938-39.

The Cahiers d'Ulysse were published during the war.
During the war, US strips were impossible to bring from the USA.
So, the french editors published european strips instead, and for instance italian strips as Saturno or Virus.

As you can see above, the drawing is not very good : nothing to see with Scolari !

J'ai bien connu Alex Kalistrate vers la fin de sa vie, une personne charmante que je retrouvais tous les dimanches aux puces de la Feyssine 69
il a dessiné des milliers de planches publiées sous divers pseudos, Pas mal de récits complets réédités à l'étranger ou il ne touchait rien !
il vivait misérablement mais jamais une plainte, il était heureux du moment qu'il avait du tabac pour sa pipe !
je suis aller plusieurs fois chez lui le raccompagner dans les monts du Jarez, il me disait "Surtout n'oublie pas ta caisse à outils"
il avait un gros placard ou il avait gardé toutes ses planches originales, il faisait imprimer des CP avec les dessins méritants pour les vendres
à la foire à la paperasse de Givors 69

- "puces" means the market of old things ;
- "pseudo" means pen name or aka (also known as)
- "foire à la paperasse" means the market of old books and old papers.

Alex Kalistrate was a very cute person. Mimi met him on each sunday at the old market.
He had drawn thousands of pages of strips published with several pen names in other countries, but was not paid for this.
He was poor, but never complained. He was happy if he had tobacco for his pipe.
Mimi went several times to his home in the Jarez Mounts. Alex asked Mimi to take his tools (?)
He had a big cupboard where he kept his original drawings.
He printed his best drawings to sell them at the market of old papers.

Il traduit en anglais assez bien, juste quelques passages n'étaient pas claires - merci beaucoup à Nutello pour les explications.
Nous ne savons toujours pas ce qu'il entend par «apporter les outils»: di vous l'aider à dessiner?
